The Top 5 Travel Tips
Top 5 TRAVEl Tips
1. Never Travel Without Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is a no-brainer, folks. It’s super affordable—about the price of a daily cup of coffee—and it can save you big time when things go south. Some credit cards even come with built-in travel insurance, however the coverage may not be enough, so read the FINE print.
2. Overlook Considering All Airports
Don’t just stick to the main airports! Sometimes, the best deals are hiding in nearby airports. For example, instead of just looking at Newark, also check out Stewart in New York. It might be a bit of a drive, but the savings can be worth it. Always look for nearby airports at both your starting point and your destination.
3. Exclude Lesser-Known Carriers
Don’t forget about the smaller airlines! Breeze Airways is my personal favorite, especially in the Southeast. They have hubs in Charleston, Tampa, Norfolk, New Orleans, and Fort Myers. These lesser-known carriers often have fantastic deals that the big guys don’t.
4. Neglect Geotagging Luggage
There’s nothing worse than your luggage going MIA. Avoid the headache by geotagging your bags with an AirTag or similar device. This way, you’ll always know where your luggage is—or isn’t. If your bag gets lost, you can tell the airline exactly where it is, making it easier for them to get it back to you.
5. Think There’s a Magic Time to Book a Flight
Forget the myths about the best time to book flights. There’s no magic day or time. Instead, the best time to book is when you get an alert that your route is on sale. Use Google Flights to track your desired flights—just enter your details and turn on the alert tab. This way, you’ll be notified when the price drops, and you can snag the best deal.
Happy travels, and may your adventures be as smooth as your morning coffee! ☕✈️
